1. About AVDTags
These Terms of Service explain how you may use the AVDTags website, your account and our digital pet-profile service. “AVDTags”, “we” and “our” refer to the service; “you” refers to the person using it.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. Creating and verifying your account
- Use an email address you can access and provide accurate signup details.
- New email-and-password accounts are activated after you follow the verification email and confirm the password you chose. Verification links expire after 1 hour; you can request another email.
- Supported Google and Apple sign-in methods use the provider’s verified email address.
- Keep your password private. Contact us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
The service is intended for adults. Anyone under 18 should use it with a parent or guardian.
3. Your pets, tags and QR codes
AVDTags links NFC pet tags and their QR codes to digital pet profiles. A compatible phone and an internet connection are needed to open and use the website.
- You can create a pet profile, add a photo or icon and update its information.
- Several tags can link to the same pet. A paired QR tag opens the same profile as its corresponding pet tag.
- Removing a tag unlinks it from the pet. Removing the last tag deletes that pet profile after confirmation.
- Deleting a whole pet profile unlinks its associated tags.
4. What becomes public
When your pet is SafeYour saved owner name, phone number, email and address are hidden from the public profile. Pet information follows your pet-visibility settings.
When your pet is LostYour saved owner contact details become visible on the public profile to help someone return your pet.
A public profile can be opened by anyone with its link, including someone who scans a tag or QR code. Marking a pet Safe hides the owner details again, but cannot remove screenshots or copies already made by other people.
5. Found-pet alerts and optional emails
Someone viewing a pet profile can press I’ve Found This Pet to notify its owner on AVDTags. This does not automatically mark the pet Lost or reveal hidden owner details. The owner decides whether to mark the pet Lost.
- Found-pet emails are optional and use the notification email saved in Owner Details.
- Six-month tag-check reminders are a separate optional email setting.
- You can turn these settings off. Reminder emails also include an unsubscribe option.
- Mobile/SMS found-pet notifications are not currently available.
Do not rely on an email arriving immediately. Delivery can be affected by email providers, spam filters and technical problems. Report an alert if it appears to be misuse.
6. Keeping your information useful
You are responsible for the information and images you add. Please:
- Keep your pet’s profile and owner contact details accurate and current.
- Test your tags and QR codes periodically, and check that the linked profile opens correctly.
- Only upload content you have permission to use.
- Avoid adding sensitive information that a finder does not need.
7. Sharing images and lost-pet posters
The sharing tools let you create pet keepsake images and lost-pet posters using your pet’s information and photo. Check the preview before downloading, printing or posting.
Keepsake images exclude owner contact details. Lost-pet posters may include contact details and other optional information you choose to add. You are responsible for deciding what to publish.
Once you share an image outside AVDTags, changing or deleting the pet profile will not update or remove that image. Social networks and other websites apply their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Editing, unlinking and deleting
You can edit your profiles, remove linked tags, delete pets and request account deletion through the available account controls or by contacting support.
Deleting your account removes the active account and its pet profiles. Some records, such as orders, reports, support messages or security records, may remain where needed to deal with an issue or meet legal obligations. See the Privacy Policy for more information and contact us with a specific deletion request.
9. Using AVDTags responsibly
Use the service lawfully and respectfully. Do not:
- Claim a tag or profile that you are not authorised to manage.
- Submit false found-pet alerts, harass another person or misuse their contact information.
- Upload unlawful, harmful or misleading content.
- Attempt to bypass security, access another account or disrupt the service.
10. Availability and pet recovery
AVDTags helps a finder access a pet’s information. It is not an emergency service or a live GPS tracker, and it cannot guarantee that a pet will be found or returned.
Access can be affected by phone compatibility, connectivity, maintenance or technical faults. Keep another suitable form of identification for your pet and use other appropriate steps to look for a missing pet.
We aim to operate the service reliably, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed.
11. Your content and our work
You keep ownership of the photos and other content you upload. By adding content, you allow AVDTags to store, display and use it as needed to provide the features you choose, including pet profiles and sharing previews.
The AVDTags branding, website design and service materials belong to AVDTags or their respective rights holders. Do not copy or reuse them without permission, except where the law allows it.
12. Account restrictions and closure
We may restrict or suspend an account where there is a reasonable concern about misuse, a security risk or a breach of these terms. Contact support if you believe a restriction is a mistake.
You can stop using the service and request account deletion. Restrictions or account closure do not remove any rights or obligations that apply under law.
13. Responsibility and your consumer rights
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Recovery can depend on factors outside our control, including the accuracy of information provided and the actions of a finder.
Nothing in these terms removes your statutory consumer rights or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
These terms do not replace the information or any applicable purchase conditions shown when you buy a product. Contact support if a product or service has a problem.
14. Updates and applicable law
We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version and its update date are available on this page. Please check them when you use a new feature.
These terms are subject to applicable UK law. Any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live remain unaffected.
